i was using shared albums from the iPhone photos app to share photos with my wife, but I've discovered that apple reduces the resolution to 2048pixels on the longest side.

What apps do you recommend for sharing (i don't mind paying) that preserves the original file size?

I tried the amazon photos app, but that kept maximum resolution but compressed from 1.3MB to 800kb.

The images are for family photos that will eventually be printed in books so i'd like to keep full size and quality.

Thanks

You could use a FlickR account.

I use FlickR Pro to store copies of my photos - both from the iPhone and DSLR/Mirrorless cameras.

On the iPhone, you can set up the FlickR app so that each time you open it it will auto upload all new photos from your iPhone photo album. It stores photos at the original resolution, and if you pay for FlickR Pro, has unlimited storage. Think I'm currently using 172Gb.

There are limits to video length/size though - 1Gb, 1080p, and although it'll store longer videos, playback is limited to 3 mins for free users, and 10 mins for pro users.

It's £8 per month, or if you pay in advance, £114 for 2 years.

You could always try out the free option, and then upgrade to pro if it works for you.

Dropbox another option. That will automatically upload your phone photos if you use the app.

2Tb for a tenner a month is enough for most people.
