LOTS of underwater pickies from Fiji!!!!!!
Discussion
Just got back from Fiji yesterday. It's a tuff job, but someone's gotta do it.
Here are a load of pickies. I adjusted colour & levels etc for my laptop while away, and I couldn't be arrrrsed to readjust them again, so they may look a little funny to some. There are a few I have not posted cos they do look sh1te and I have to redo them, but I think most look OK ish...
Enjoy me hearties!

That'll be the company who make the best cameras in the world, Canon!
Martin.
Canon? I thought they specialised in fotocopiers?!!!!
I am sure you can get a housing for a Canon digital SLR. Try Alan James Photography in Bristol. 0117 969 9988. ajphoto@marine-cameras.com You'll either get Alan or Heather. Should be fairly easy to tell who is who! Mention my name...
Hope that helps.

Fantastic pics Diddyguy, very very nice indeed! A few particularly exceptional photos, which begs the question did you really take them and why are some people lucky enough to go on holidays like these all the time
Of course I didn't take them? I bought them off ebay!!!
And I would just like to emphasise - it wasn't a holiday, it was WORK...

Awesome pics Diddyman. Love them all and am pleased to say I spotted the scorpion fish too.
Having been pipped at the post in 3 bidding wars for Sea & Sea MMiiex's I have finally realised that I didn't want a film camera anyway and that a digicam only will do.
What kit do you use in taking these shots if you don't mind me asking. A full rundown would be great.
Thanks.
Greg
PS. Did you sell your old film kit yet?

BTW - Two things. Great pics! And thanks for the link to marine-cameras. I just spoke to them, mentioned your name and they slammed the phone down.
(not really)
There is a housing coming out for the D2X in early 06 (so you have depleted the Carter funds even more - thanks again ).
However, It'll keep Mrs Get happy for a bit (yes, even the North Atlantic has it's clear still days) - below, a pic of her in our 'pond' looking like she knows how to steer a kayyak.

Hi Greg
Thanks for the kind words!
I use a D70 in a Sea & Sea DX housing with two Sea & Sea YS90Dual strobes (though one of them packed up at the start of the trip, so all these shots were done with one strobe - hence some shadows in some of the more close up shots and lack of lighting in some of the wide angle shots!)
All these shots were taken either with a 12-24 lens (the wide angle and some of the closer up stuff) or the 18-70 which with a +4 diopter lens on can focus to about 8 inches, so can be used as a semi macro lens as well.
I have a 105 macro lens too, but funnily enough with only one strobe the macro shots were just cack so I gave up after one dive!
I intend to purchase the 10.5 fisheye and a 60 macro at some point, as the former looks fun and the latter would have more scope than the 105.
Not sold the 35mm gear - to be honest probably not worth bothering about even trying to!

They did? Good! I told them you were just a time waster!
And don't blame me for your lack of will power!!!!
Seeing as I only just got the D70 housing in May I'll hold back on upgrading to a new camera quite yet!
Nice pond! We had a smaller version once, with ducks.
We now have a stream with no ducks and no potential for diving!
