It's just my hobby and I spend a lot of time learning from others and teaching myself, experimenting, etc. I use to do a lot of motorsport photography but got into portraits and fashion photography about 4 years ago through Brett Harknesss.
That's brilliant, it'd be great to spend some serious time on that sort of photography, and it looks like there are some amazing courses that give you access to the locations and models? I'd be more than delighted with the sort of results you're getting, so I can completely understand your motivation.

Now I just need to finish off the house and I can spend some time on these things I've heard about called 'hobbies'. biggrin

Starting to rock a bit of a David LaChapelle vibe with these and the milk splash ones as well, realy excellent stuff.

Have to say it's great that you share these here, really enjoy this thread thanks to your pics and all the others.

What's the benefit of using a B&W filter over using a B&W adjustment layer in Photoshop? (Genuine question as I'm not sure.)

I like the light on this one. Is it using a reflector?

No, just an off-camera flash with umbrella.

Would love to see the process invloved in getting those 'milk' shots.

I don't usually take pictures of people so I've been making more of an effort recently.
This is Callum, he's my wifes friends little boy. I used a 50mm f1.8 on the 7D without flash (didn't want to scare the little fella) so the light is from a nearby window.

I like this but obviously it would be better if it was sharp. I got caught out using the wide apeture for light and lost the focus on his face.

Help and constructive criticism welcome. This was way harder than I was ready for, he moves a lot!

The milk part is just lots of leveled images layered as smart objects and bent into shape using puppet warp. Each layer is blended with layer masks and shaded to give a three dimensional effect.

Yep, the basic images were shot there and then lots of photoshop work afterwards.

So... so the model's boobs weren't really that shape (ie damn perfect) ?

I don't know if this makes me happier or sad...
