Male Magpie, one of a nesting pair in our garden buzzing me after chasing off two rooks!

Crossed the Scottish border today (last time without a passport?) to visit St Abbs near Eyemouth. Very active bird colonies on the cliffs inc, Razorbills (see below) Guillimots, Kittiwakes and common Eider. There was even a Rock Pipit sitting next to the car park!
We went there last week for the first time as part of an epic UK driving trip from Bristol to Edinburgh and back. Lovely place and I was lucky enough to see a seal and hares as well as the seabirds. Will find some pics shortly.

These are mostly other bird pics I came back happy(ish) with but the first two are at St Abbs:

Really tried hard to capture these house martins but didn't get any I was really happy with in the end:

/\ Very nice, especially the last but one shot of the Guillemot. I think the Gannets are nesting further North from St Abbs. We saw quite a few flying South but none perched or fishing.

A couple more garden birds. The chaffinch is about as sharp as I've ever managed on a small bird smile

One of several Sedge Warblers at my local bird refuge in Durham. Easy to hear with their distinctive song but less easy to photograph as AF is almost unusable due to the reeds these birds nest in. A few minutes patience paid off though:

Had a day with a few like minded people and Andy Rouse at the British Wildlife Centre on wed (so captive birds), happy with the results!

Went for a stroll with the new Tokina 400mm f5.6 today, not bad for a cheapie but it does need decent light to give good results.

While its not a particularly good photo, I was fascinated by the coat on these:

I think so - I've probably just never looked at one in detail before!

I can't compete with any of the above. What I need is a bird that can't fly away, is inside my bike shed, and isn't a bit timid. Cue a baby robin:
