I suppose you're going to piss me off now and tell me that was taken with a wide angle from your garden?

Anyway, here's a Marsh Harrier, one of a pair nesting at my local RSPB reserve.

This little fella decided to have a rest outside my kitchen window. Fortunately he wasn't to bothered with me clambouring over my worktop to get into a good postion to shoot him.

Having dinner at mates earlier, this kept circling, quite pleased with this shot!

Really proud of this one. It's a Galápagos short eared owl. I was stalked by him for ages whilst climbing the highest point on the island here. No fancy kit, just a decent zoom and some painful crawling through undergrowth!

It was worth the pain, what a lovely owl.

Thanks very much. He certainly was magnificent. We were stalked for ages as we climbed the hill, constantly circling. By the amount of bird carcasses on the path he was also a very successful hunter!

Not one of mine, but taken by my eldest son, who doesn't post on PH - I'm sufficiently gobsmacked by it to want to share it

From memory - D7100, 1/1000, f7.1, ISO640
