I think I saw a Redwing yesterday - I wondered what it was, but only remembered when seeing your photo. Thank you!

Been on the same walk a few times, always a lot of Red Kites about, they never come close or come close when it's a dull day.

Yesterday everything fell into place.

Taken on a Sony A580 using a Sigma 150-500mm

Tricky conditions for my wee camera - 600mm at f4 and iso 1600 was only getting me around 1/200 so not ideal but great fun and a few half decent results smile

Lovely shots Mike - like the last one particularly.

Whereabouts were they taken?

Thanks all for the comments - it's appreciated smile

They were taken on the Water of Leith in Edinburgh - I've updated the location on Flickr if interested

smile although tbh sprawks rarely leave that much. Usually just a few feathers.
