Who are you calling a Kent?
As I typed that, I knew someone would make that joke.
Well it's nice to be useful. If you'd like me to bump agin, just let me know you've also seen them in Fucov, Poland smile
No, I am still annoyed with England's performance but the thread title is somewhat ironic if you saw the juvenile black pigeon/dove that sat for half of the first half on the Algeria goal netting. It sat there perfectly safe as corners came in and headers flew 10 feet over...

I know the original request was for advice, but I can't think of anything to add beyond what has already been said. So I'll just copy everyone else and add some pics instead smile

The the robin shot.

What I admire is peoples ability to name the species of bird, I'm shocking at it! I'm a member of the London WWT, and yet all my shots seem to consist of "Brown duck", "Slightly smaller brown duck" "Brown duck with highlights" etc...

I went with a pal of mine, she could rattle of their names straight away. Mind you, she could've called them anything and I would have believed her!

Wow, that means they are spreading at quite a rapid rate!

A few years back it was only a few pockets of them in groups. At this that rate I might see some in my garden in Cheshire by the time I draw my pension!
I think they have been quite widespread around South West London and into the North of Surrey for a couple of decades. Certainly they and their like were not an uncommon sight around the Woking/Weybridge/Cobham area a decade ago and quite large flocks of not native seed eaters were often to be seen between there and Putney.

Tame,

was more interested in the camping kettle than worried about us

and of course food, this guy was very interested in the bread I had in my hand

All this was shot with either with an old canon 100-300 5.6L or more recently a 70-200 2.8 with a 1.4x extended.

A small Tawney owl which we came across on a work day out to Braemar. Sat by the road in a bush!

Currently in the States and having set up a few different feeders a couple of yards from the front window we've attracted all sorts of birds, the hummingbird is now a daily visitor, so difficult to photograph though as it buzzes around.
