Sorry chaps, meant to say many thanks for the comments about my photos, always much appreciated. The photos weren't taken through glass, and the feeder was in a country park we were visiting, no not much chance of moving it. Will try faster settings next time, was vary of bumping the ISO any further but think I'd trade a bit of graininess for a bit more sharpness.

Could also be a Lava Heron, a Green Heron or a hybrid of these species which can throw up various colour combinations!

I'll go along with that.

There's been a couple of times when I've had a long lens on my camera when I've seen a Treecreeper running up trees very close to me (a couple of feet away on one occasion and well inside MFD)I think to get the best chance of shots of them you'd need a fairly short tele zoom with a fast aperture and look for them at twilight. That's when I usually see them anyway.

Here's a few of my first decent shots from me - only just starting to really get my head around what I would call proper composition. I'm not a naturally "arty" person so it's taking me a while to get there! C&C very welcome! Spying duck by ant-k, on Flickr Quack! by ant-k, on Flickr Peregrine by ant-k, on Flickr Edit due to being an eejit...

I'm a rubbish birder! It's cropped, I think the original was at about 200mm of my 55-250mm lens, and yes it was a captive bird. Thanks for the comments by the way.
