daveake said: That's the point though, isn't it? I usually take lots of photos when there are "easy pickings" but very few otherwise. For me the challenge is finding something worthwhile to photograph when otherwise the camera wouldn't see the light of day.
Mind you, browsing some of the journals on blipfoto, a few of the contributors do seem to live next to glorious scenery which happens to have spectacular weather just about every day ;-) I find that... Some fantastic pictures on blip but then a lot of blip is about the words that go with it and I think that for a lot of folks that is the more important bit... There are some fantastic photographers on there but I think that generally a lot of the pictures we see here are better.... Cheers D

Oh, I like that one much more than mine I'd never tried anything like this before, and was just pleased to get something worth uploading. I wasn't expecting much positive feedback, so I was pleased with that, but on the other hand I'd rather I got more feedback on the stuff I like to do (landscapes)!

Thanks, the odd thing is that you will take what you consider is a great picture and get very little feedback, then take a quick snap and get loads of positives.. Funny old place

Three days in and I'm struggling for ideas. The challenge of course, is picking the best photos when you're on holiday / somewhere interesting where you've got lots to choose from, and finding something to snap during your normal day. In my case, I work from home so it's finding something interesting in/around my house. (In Wales where the weather is always s t, which is an automatic handicap :P)

In my case, I work from home so it's finding something interesting in/around my house. (In Wales where the weather is always s t, which is an automatic handicap :P) Struggling already!! How? I'm already rueing the shot I set up yesterday (an empty pot) for a full pot of soup today (although it wasn't as full as I wanted). But in the meantime I went to the tip (could have got a great abstract of the recycling glass/plastic piles), and probably 2 or 3 more shots around the place. But as I was set for Soup Pot Filled, my shot was already dictated. Pity contents of said pot were eaten by the time I got to take the picture. Go take a picture of a window, focus on the outside, black out the frame, and call it artsy.

I did one last year and finished. I enjoyed it so much that I am carrying straight on into a new one for 2011! I have most of the 2010 photos uploaded @ www.flickr.com/v15ben but due to a busy festive period and working away, I haven't got the last few online yet! It definitely got me out of the house on days when I'd have otherwise been lazy and I think my photography skills have developed over the year. I'd also say to make a list of photo ideas as I am always amazed what great ideas I see in everyday life and forget a few minutes later! Have fun
