Ladies and Gents

Last years photography sessions were a great success (thanks to you smile) and it's time to start thinking about what to do in 2011.

We have some thoughts, but would appreciate your input. So far, we are considering some, or all, of the following:

Teaching moving rig/ bolt on techniques

Location work - like the 'group test' shots you see in car magazines

Production skills - how to get the best from post production

Free studio time - come and use the PH studio (and kit) to shoot your own car (2 hour slots)

Video - how to shoot a car video properly

Beginners course - A pro snapper talks through all the functions on a camera, how to use them and what they do.

If you have any thoughts on this, please let us know and also let us know if there is something you would like to do that we haven't mentioned.

Thanks in advance.

I'm still interested in the original arrangements of spending a day learning how to shoot a selection of crs.

I wasn't able to make any of the dates before due to work commitments

PistonHeads is based at Teddington Studios, and fortunately this building is also the home of the LAT studios http://www.haymarketstudios.com/location.html

We employ the services of a friendly pro snapper called Peter Spinney and he teaches small groups (no more than 10) how to shoot a car (or whatever it is that we are teaching).

Our 2010 sessions concentrated on studio techniques using a supplied car, and the cars of the attendees too. The price for the session (09.00 - 17.00 including lunch and refreshments) was £150. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=844...

This year we want to expand on this, and will use the large carpark to the rear of the studios to teach some moving car techniques and will aim to get out 'on location' too.

We hope that all sessions will be similarly priced, but we might have some differences either way depending on the sessions we are teaching.

I'll keep you posted of dates and prices.

I would love to have a go at shooting a car with a rig / bolt-on camera.

A great proposition Garlick and a great addition to PH. I'm up for this, even though this is virtually my job.

I'm definitely interested, although it's a bit of a trek. How easy is it getting from Heathrow to the studio?

I'd imagine that you'd have to get a bus or two. Certainly it would be quicker to get a taxi, but not the cheapest option.

I had to miss last years sessions unfortunately - but the studio shoots were something I would definitely be interested in having a go at.

Yeh - wot he said. /\

Paul - never did manage to meet schedules with the car shoot in the studio. Would still like to do this but I can see this year being even worse as far as schedules are concerned..
