Hi all, new boy just starting to find out about the TVR S series. Never had a TVR but have played with old and odd cars for many years - Triumphs/landrover/alfa etc etc .
Anyway, what I'd like to know about is sagging doors on the S series cars. This seems to be quite common, but there isn't much info on the cause or the fix... (probably is, but I haven't managed to look in the right places) Is it a hinge wear problem or does the A post start to flex? Is there a recommended fix?
Cheers, Phil

On mine the nylon bush was 100% fine, usually the upper bobbin is loose or breaks
The bushes and bobbins on mine were OK, just the bolts corroded and worn. Didn't try too hard to undo them as did not want to disturb the bobbins. I disconnected the wiring in the door and sawed off the hinge bolts with a hacksaw blade. Made some wood wedges to lift the door for access to the bottom hinge. With the door off I drilled out the remains of the bolts and ran a tap through to clean up the threads. Now have nice stainless bolts that run very nicely in the original bushes.
