It may be a little unpalatable but you could consider going slightly narrower on the front tyres and an increase in size on the steering wheel.

The Power steering was great at low speed but does rob feel at speed, it loses a bit of that go kart feeling.

Just found out that it would be just about impossible to retrofit this and get a German MOT without EU certification! So I think I'm going to be looking at a new larger steering wheel this year and see how it goes. The wheel currently fitted is a "Personal" 3 spoke, 360mm wood and alu with 6 mounting screws to the boss. Any recommendations for similar suppliers/links gratefully received.

Hello Paul, that is what I did ( see my reply above).
I also started a topic about this ;
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=134...

I fitted a Sparco wich is well made and not too expensive ( 180€).
Unfortunately the holes are not at the same place and had to make an intermediate plate.
Regards,
Christian

Paul, in addition to a lager steering wheel you could think about your tyres. If you haven't already got 60 profile fitted these will help. Tyres with stiffer side-walls will turn a bit easier and increasing the tyre pressure will help as well. When I recently got my new wheels back from the tyre fitters it felt like I had PAS. When I checked they were at 40psi!!! laugh With a bit of experimentation you may find a good balance between comfort and ride quality.

I do not advocate drinking & driving, but does anyone know where I can get my hands on a real ale steering wheel? winkdrivingbeer
