I'm sure there will be SYTVRCC members wanting to attend the various events over the weekend - i'm looking forward to the Snake Pass run and the day at Niagra, as long as you can get those feckin police dogs silenced

I was just thinking, if people are not signing up perhaps it might help to find out why not.
For me there would be a few reasons. 1/ I am away at the F1 2/ I hate camping 3/ I just wonder if the s club day is now going for too long (as in days) In the past it's been planned for 'one day only'somewhere at a venue which is worth seeing not just around booze & food
Please don't shoot me down for these thoughts. I think anyone who takes a lot of time out to plan these days puts in a lot of effort. Me, well at the Coventry day I organised the noon. Even that took many hours to reckie. Been there and done that so I know it's does take an effort from the organisers.
But, why are people not signing up ?
(can't be the price of petrol though as the Scottish boys always turn up !)

F1 is better on TV you don't have to camp lots of B&Bs about you can still just go on Sunday i think its good to have the chance to stay Saturday night some people have a long drive to get there, its a bit more relaxing and you get a nice drive out on Saturday to

Back in 2007 50 cars turned up in Coventry last year there were also 50 cars. Just trying to find out why only 11 cars have booked this year so far. Adrian

Remember it well. I was there on the Sunday. Still not sure why not many are going this year though. But, for anyone who has never been I can say its brilliant to see so many of these cars turning up one after the other.

Still not sure why not many are going this year though. But, for anyone who has never been I can say its brilliant to see so many of these cars turning up one after the other. Sign up for the last two years was slow until the last month as well, with around 20 or so only signing up before this time. Therefore 11 by now is not that unusual. Last year the event was spread obver 3 days with 20-25 cars doing the lot and 58 on the final day (some were not there all the time), the year before there were 59 on the Sunday at Cosford, with this event spread over 2 days. The spreading of the event has made it more of a family thing meaning more people but no more S series cars, with several like myself turning up with the daily drive too. Unfortunately I can't make this year due to pressure of work (and the S is off the road for engine refurb) but the hassling (like done above) got the signups coming in towards the end. The crux is people don't want to commit until the last minute - fine for the individual but a nightmare for the organiser

As the organiser, I'm busy most of the time, but happy to do the event. the venue is easy for me and the only need for an early sign up is for the mugs and T-shirts which is not really a big deal (to me anyway). If we don't get a few more soon then looks like no mugs and t-shirts.
I think people often want to keep their options open which is absolutely fine, eg,en if only 11 cars turn up the event will still run. sure it will be more though, with extra support coming from South Yorks TVRCC with other TVRs as well.
hope it's good though as I'll be selling the 's' after the show to move on to other projects. no doubt I'll be back again in the future.

As i didn't go to Chatsworth i hope to go to S club but still not sure what to expect on the Sunday , can the organisers post a list of attractions and events happening at the Emergency services show , it might help the decision . The 2004 s club had 80+ S's 2005 90+ Newark i think had less S's but was very well supported by other TVR's well over 100 cars ,I think we had about 50 S's at Gaydon when the weather was pants so i am sure there will be 50+ cars this year . The current "Scottish contingent" is 6 cars. Not all of them are on here though so they won't sign up.
There might be other S owners up here that we don't know about, but I think we've tried all the ones we can find!
Oh and we don't do "waiting till the last minute in case we have to call-off because of the weather" - so those of you who live nearer (that covers just about everybody), get your cars out and be there, come what may!

For me it is the location, nothing else. I realise nowhere is perfect for everyone, but this is just a bit too far flung for me.
As for camping, it would be my choice as I love it and all the associated outdoor activities. Friday to Sunday would be good too.
As for why others may not have signed, can only surmise:
Awaiting to see what the weather is going to be like. Costs at a financially difficult time Fuel. Family commitments

I'd have loved to have come, especially as I am new to the S series fold. Unfortunately I am away in Gozo whilst it's on so can't make this year.

I was looking forward to going to s club this year (left my club eau rouge sticker on especially!) but my brother is turning up from Canada that weekend with his new baby and I have to go and coo at it There is a slim chance that I might get up there on the Sunday morning but if not I hope the weather holds out and everyone has a good time.

Paul, I reckon your brother (sub?)conciously timed his visit so that he could also attend SCH leaving the females of the family to coo over the baby. Or the baby could be securely strapped onto the parcel shelf with a couple of bungee straps. Babies love to watch overhanging trees whizz past. Not many babies are lucky enough to get that sort of start in life. You owe that as a good uncle.

Next time I'm considering committing domestic suicide I'll give you a shout!
