Those of you that are TVRCC members and like a daft excuse for a drive out - please contact your regional organisers and join in the TVR Blackpool rock relay. It would be great to see lots of S's doing this.

The Baton is going to start in Blackpool and end at Rockingham for the DTEC race on 19th August where a racing driver will be the final baton holder and take the rock on a trip around the race track where the rock baton will be 'competing' in it's own Olympic race

The route order has been decided based on positive emails from the regions listed, but you may have to be creative with your routes, regional members and neighbours to cover any larger gaps in the map:

Relay Order Region Name
1 Blackpool
2 Lancashire
3 North Cumbria
4 West Scotland
5 Central Scotland
6 Tees Valley
7 North East England
8 North Yorks
9 East Yorks
10 East Midlands
11 Norfolk & Suffolk
12 Cambs
13 Herts & Beds
14 Mid Essex
15 Middlesex
16 Surrey
17 West Sussex
18 Dorset
19 Devon
20 Somerset
21 Bristol
22 Wiltshire
23 C3C
24 Northants
25 TVRCC DTEC Tent

RO's will have access to details of how it works - Regions will need to work with each other to organise routes and handover points. It should be possible to cover a few regions each weekend, and if you are able to handle it, maybe the odd hand over during the week.

You all know the roads in your regions better than me, so I'll leave it to you.

What would make this extra special is to try and re-create the Olympic Torch relay where we have photo stops and handover points. You might even be able to include a celebrity.

let's have some Olympic fun!

This started last Saturday in Blackpool and the rock/torch was passed to Lancs on Saturday afternoon and again on to the Cumbria region on Sunday after a good drive round the local area. More details will be on the TVRCC homepage but if you are interested in a bit of a laugh and would like to get involved contact your local RO who will no doubt value your help.

Took custody of the rock on Sunday at the Lakeland Motor Museum, its now on its way to bonnie Scotland to be handed over to the Lanark boys next Sunday...

The rock in its 'flaming' holder is a sight to behold - don't want to spoil the image, but in true TVR style there is a significant amount of gaffer tape holding it together already! laugh

This is possibly the least environmentally friendly tribute to the Olympics ever

You can follow the daft antics here:

As we receive reports, sightings and photos (and we get a spare 5 mins!) we are updating the page.
