Deeman, I have just been out to the garage to take a few photos of mine as they are different to everyone else. A few people commented on them too at the 2011 S Club and quite a few photos noticed being taken of them. It cant have been of the car as it was/still is in quite a state cosmetically!! The difference may be due to mine being a very early V8s and TVR hadn't decided on what they wanted to do. My logo is also on the quarter panel instead of the doors too. Plenty of photos are below to show the differences and scale.
Hope these help

^^^^^^The Big G, your V8s graphics look really good, my favourite so far.
The decals are indeed silver over the body colour, but i think other colours were available.
My wheels are diamond cut with dark metallic grey (presumably) powder coat centre detail, spoke edges & reverse sides, then clear laquered.
As far as I know they are still original, not bad after 25 years, but there is the odd spot of corrosion where the laquer has chipped.
I just apply generous amounts of wax after cleaning them.

Thanks Glen, the pics have cleared one thing up for me; it appears that on the S1 the optional decal has the lettering in outline only so the body colour shows through (I presume from your and leTVR that the decal is silver?). At the risk of starting a new debate I do prefer that simplicity to the introduction of another colour with the 'solid' decal letters on the later cars. Matter of interest, are the wheels on your car painted or polished, they do look just 'right'.
Kind comments Richard, thanks. The decals are indeed silver over the body colour, but i think other colours were available.

Very nice Gordon - I can certainly see why it attracted so much attention. Really appreciate you taking the time and trouble to photograph and scale too.
Like it lots - I Note your stripes don't extend over the rear quarter too. Do you think that's intentional/as was original? Some cars seem to.

That is just sooooo shiny! Nice though your decals are, I doubt they are original. Both the road test car (H15 VBS) and others in early publicity shots had the more 'standard' decals:http://www.bfc-toolbar.co.uk/tvr-s/pics/PC%20-%20S...

You are right Graham, probably not original (although TVR dont seem to have been too concerned about variations) but how many are original now? Mine has BMW front indicators, Peugeot seatbelts and wiper motor, Fiat heater fan motor, MX5 mirrors, Renault cooling fan, Bridgestone tyres, powder coated wheels, GAZ shocks and springs, seats are retrimmed, swing arms and wishbones etc are now red...etc. I love it and my friends covert it! Do I conserve originality, or adapt and develop it to keep using it hard. If the S had stayed in production would style details have changed? In the end art is in the eyes of the viewer. To me Gordons version looks better and the simplicity suits the pure simplicity of the cars lines better. Anybody fancy a V6 version??
Thats so true greymrj, few cars will still be the same as the day they left Blackpool. I have no idea if mine are original, but the bodywork is a long way from being acceptable so doubt any major work has been done to it during its lifetime. Nothing is mentioned in its history either. My car also has other differences to other v8s', ie the 3.9 plenum instead of a 400. Again this may have been changed by someone at a later date. I know my car is a early one as it was manufactured in April '91 and first registered at the begining of Aug '91. This may or may not explain some of these diferences. I just don't know for sure, and neither does anyone on this forum that I have found. Maybe someone though does....
As for my graphics, I like the simple plain lines and I think it complements the very simple and plain colour that I have. I'm not so sure it would work so well with a bright metallic. The pinstripe not running the full length of the car is the same at both sides. Maybe one started to peel off and as such both were removed, but this is just conjecture. I think it adds some solidness to the rear of the car which adds some visual purpose. Like its pushing the car forwards, but I may be reading into it to far. All I know is that I like it which us just as well as its mine.

Pete, did you or anybody else recently ever get your V8S Stickers? If so where from? Just spent an hour on free lettering sites but not 100% happy with anything I can come up with, Do I just need a pic off here to replicate at printers or does it have to be in some kind of PC file? Will ring Surface and Design tommorow, do they print in any colour or do they just sell what they have in stock? thats if they still do them!

Chris - Plenty of places will make them up for you - David Gerald's included - but they ain't cheap. Personally, I really like Gordon's graphics, but i'm not sure it would suit my colour unlike his deep black mirror finish, so I reckon i'll keep them as they were designed. Deeman said:
Has no-one got any scale V8 Body art? All I have found on the net is this
Not sure whose S it is, but thats all I have to go on. A scale would be really helpful

Joe, I like the idea of designing my own, am just no good at it! will try some better lettering sites. Pete I agree, I dont think the simple one would suit mine either and dont really want to pay too much just for stickers as will probably cock them up while fitting anyway! Cheers Chris may take a pic of those to printers and adjust slightly,I think a thin outline on the letters would look better IMHO!
