Body Art ???

No it's not what your thinking, I'm after a pair of body stripes for an S2, the two pinstripes (one slightly wider than the other) that incorporate the S2 logo that ran down each side of the car, any ideas where I can get some ??

Photographed mine before they came off for respray and a local "vehicle graphics" company copied them for me.

Can't tell you the cost because it was a kinda favour

Spoke to "my man" and yes he could do some more.

Budget price, to be confirmed once I've reminded him of measurements etc. would be around £25 a set.

These would not be gaurantee'd to be exact copies but would be near enough you'd never notice unless cars were parked next to each other.

They were "S3" he made for me, think the S came from an Audi logo and the 3 was made by "chopping around" with the S (there's probably a more technical computer term... cut 'n paste or photoshop or whatever???).
No doubt a 2 could be found or made in the correct font?

You could always do the brass rubbing things with some tracing paper. That way you should have the correct size and font.

Wish I had thought of that before I got to work with a stanley scraper, I would appreciate their contact details please Mike and if anyone has a nice piccy of the S2 logo that would be good too.

I also wish I could remember what colour they were, very similar to yours but I don't recall having the S2 underlined as yours are.

I've just got my S3c back from a respray and would be interested in a set of graphics.

Does anybody know if it is OK to apply the graphics to a finshed paint job or should they have gone on prior to the clear coat?

I'm really glad this thread started, as I started trawling the internet for the V8S logo a while back but cannot judge scale etc. I would also really appreciate any V8 owners posting a pic of the graphic with an idea of scale. It definitely sounds like a business opportunity forming! Any piccies really welcomed.

Here you go. This isn't from mine, but I was led to believe it was original. It differs in detail from the one in your post above, however...

Personally, I think it's a bit cr@p. I prefer the S3 style, so I designed my own.

Unless you are a "stickler" for originality I'd suggest designing your own based on the various images and measurements offered here ?

As a little aside the decals on mine cost the original buyer an extra £30.43 + vat !



An online inflation calculator makes it nearly double today at £59.64

And the car goes from £17,545 to £34,388 !!!

Thanks Glen, the pics have cleared one thing up for me; it appears that on the S1 the optional decal has the lettering in outline only so the body colour shows through (I presume from your and leTVR that the decal is silver?). At the risk of starting a new debate I do prefer that simplicity to the introduction of another colour with the 'solid' decal letters on the later cars. Matter of interest, are the wheels on your car painted or polished, they do look just 'right'.
