Happy New Year to all - we are very jealous of the trip and you will all have a fantastic time.

Unfortunately, we won't be joining you this year's jaunt - we are hopeful that come the end of the year I will be able to start work on putting the car right and then on to 2014

I'm jealous too! Was hoping to come along this year but still job hunting so having to prolong the redundancy pot/not book too much and have to tell new employer I have 3 weeks hols booked

Apologies - at the start of this topic I showed the price for a single room in Calais but for some stupid reason I forgot to include the price (£42) for a twin or double I've added it now


I also mentioned that the Furka Pass topped out at 7500 feet. For reference, the summit of Ben Nevis is "only" 4400 feet...

It certainly will! But I can think of at least two other people who will be carrying spare ones...

However, for forty quid you could buy a new one, which might be better value than a 13 year old second-hand one:
