Parts arrived from Burtons today.
Engine mounts and Gearbox mount, all look as expected so should fit no problem.

Another question.
While the engine and gearbox are out and lying on the floor I may as well have a look at the clutch. Am I right in assuming that this is a standard Ford Capri 2.8i clutch kit ? (should it need replacing that is).

Bit of a mine field this topic. Lots of past discussion on the topic of Clutches. I believe you are correct that the clutch can be a capri clutch, though mine was fitted with a Granada clutch, which despite my initial concern (having read some past discussion), seems to be ok.

Adrian Venn advises that 'some' Granada clutches may work initially, then start to slip after a few thousand miles.

I guess the important thing is to make some comparison measurements between the old, and the new item!

If just replacing the friction plate (without a new pressure plate)I could understand there may be a problem but if the whole clutch assembly was replaced as a kit (friction plate, pressure plate and release bearing) I cannot understand where the problem would arise.

Fro memory, it was something to do with the studs on the flywheel!!??

I can only suggest you phone Adrian Venn (Exactly TVR). He is very helpful.

Good luck.

Does this help explain possible issues with "wrong" clutch?

I believe you want a Capri 2.8 clutch not a Granada, Sierra etc. one?

Some parts numbers in the Alternative parts list and on previous posts with a bit or searching.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the info and links.
The Adrian Venn issue appears to be with the 2.9 engine/flywheel not the 2.8.
Looking at Clutch kits for the 2.8 Cologne throws up the same part number for Capri 2.8, Granada 2.8 and Sierra XR4i.
Certainly will have to have a careful look before purchasing.
