mine is at the origin state so i hope to don t have too much problemes with it ;-) what was wrong for you?

Mine was gummed up with stale fuel but even after lots of careful cleaning the car:

1. Would not start when cold unless the key was turned ten or so times (so it was running only on the warm up injector until warm) and would not rev.

2. When it was warm it was down on power, very slow to rev.

3. Would not start when warm, if left for ten minutes or more, until cold again.

All of these related to fuel pressure but there were several things wrong. The order in which I tried to debug the system and cost at each stage (I had never worked on fuel injection systems before, only SU carbs).

The fuel pump, hoses and fuel filter were all replaced with brand new good quality parts.

1. Cleaned everything with carb cleaner. (slight improvement)
2. Stripped the Warm Up Regulator and rebuilt with a new kit of parts. £40 (no improvement).
3. Replaced fuel injectors with new ones. £150 (slight improvement).
4. Replaced thermotime switch with known good used one. £25 (no improvement)
5. Replaced one tiny nitrile O ring in the pressure regulator. 1penny!

The last fix was the main culprit. I had removed, cleaned and refitted the pressure regulator in the side of the fuel distributor head but had not realise that the O ring was in a poor state. On removal it fell into several pieces.

After fixing that the car starts, revs when cold, has tons of power and starts when hot.

Most of the problems with Kjetronic fuel injection seem to relate to fuel pressure and although it cost time and money to fix I certainly learned a great deal about the system and I am confident I can fix it if anything goes bad again.

Congratulations on buying an S. Have a look at this S parts catalogue. Helps identify the parts and part numbers and make searching a little simpler.
