Can you get replacements easily? I have some rust coming through. Hoping they're from a Mini or something BH it with my luck they're from a 50s Ferrari or something!

you'll just have to fabricate the little "L" bracket at the bottom.

Almost as rare as indicator lenses. Actually from the super rare 1963 Ferrari Imbroglione.

Fortunately I have a set spare I can let you have for just £999.99. wink

E Type rims sounds so much posher than Mini.

And bit cheaper than Ferrari wink

AS with so many things there are different quality items around, try and find "chrome on brass" if you can.

Yes, no problem. I just found it easier to "knock up" a couple of new 'uns (from some stainless strip) rather than remove the old rusty ones.

That is such a grand gesture, it's what makes being an S Clubber so worthwhile. ;-)

I got a spare pair from an autojumble for a few quid, always worth a rummage around.
Got Austin his badge at the same time. smile

Hey, I could have said they were from some obsolete Sherpa van and charged £9,999.99 for them! biggrin

I will have to brave the extreme cold, but I have a few spare MG headlamp rings which look to be the right size, but have to check the fitting.

Yes, so long as they have sidelights in them. These 7" headlamps were used on loads of cars in the 60's and 70's until square and then all sort of funny shaped headlights became the fashion.
Some had sidelights in the headlights others had separate sidelights so no hole in reflector for bulb holder.

Loads to choose from.... clicky

Can I ask OP (NiceCupOfTea) what he eventually went with?

I need to replace my surrounds, so intrigued by this talk of swapping a small bracket. Does it unscrew/glue/?

Also, I want good quality surrounds, so personal experience is invaluable.

Thanks

Well, I finally did this and went for chrome on brass, but on fitting discovered the new ones (from MiniSpares) have a lip on the back. I managed to tease one on to the car (test fit before I started drilling/rivetting) and now can't get it off (without distorting it) :-/

So I suppose it has saved me some work but slightly annoying in that they won't come off without help. Worth mentioning though.
