If you're confused about Greg replying its 'cause the car's in his garage whilst I have a pile of Griff bits in mine!

Seem to remember that I just took the pipe off & posted it to Neil to use as a pattern, but as Greg said I had a banjo fitted at the master cylinder end. The other end is just a straight fitting.

Oh, one small tip... DON'T drop one of the slave cylinder mounting bolts into the hole in the bell housing... you can guess how I know this! whistle
He did mention he'd taken delivery of a new car winkeeklaugh

Also been there, done it. the bolt then got caught in the ring gear on the flywheel, ended up spliting the engine and gearbox to get it out. Make sure you stuff a rag or something in the hole.

Max - have you got somewhere to get the pipe made up?

I've e-mailed ML Performance on Tim's recommendation (flexi-hose) for a price.

The trouble people go to for S owners....

Today I decided to wash the van (annual clean) and wash my car. Then had to remove Tims S from my garage so that I could get out my ladders to put on the van (noting bird poop still on roof). But the S was a bit dusty so it has now had a wash and chammy so that it is spotless (unlike my car or van). Return to house/ computer and then after reading forum return to S to measure the pipe for Max burning fingers on lovely HOT polished stainless steel headers :-0

Notice that the Snow chains I have will probably fit the S so we are prepared for the next trip to the Alpes and after wondering why I didn't take it last week stuck my car in the classifieds :-)

Also took a few pics of the pipe so will email them to you Max wounds permitting...

There is one for sale on ebay right now, which is a Marina one, and should go straight on.

Tony. TCB.
Bought one of these and can confirm these need an adaptor as they take the smaller 3/8inch UNF diameter pipe connector.

Really peasant bloke and speedy delivery. He also supplies the adaptors but I'm possibly going to change the slave and pipe (to flexi-hose).

They look about right but I'd check the pipe /connector threads, unless you're getting a new pipe or braided hose.

The master I ordered was from/for a marina/ital.

Also, I had to amend the flange on the slave to get it to sit right when married up to the car, simple angle grinder to take a few mm off.

Hi.
I too have Land Rover parts to fit on my car.
The master cylinder thread is the same as the genuine one, 3/8 UNF, but the slave is 7/16UNF.
I had a braided hose made but my slave cylinder is on the passenger side so it wasn't long enough!
Regards Chris.

Thanks for the advice. I'll order those parts and get a new pipe made to cope with any different threads.

My braided hose came from ML performance.
It is too short for my car and is on ebay at the moment!

hi. been reading this thread and would like to know if the master and slave clutch cylinders are the same on V6 & V8 models. If not, could someone advise what i would need to replace them on my V8??

Nothing wrong with mine, but always prudent to have spares of these, especially seen as they make a big difference when they suffer wear problems.

thanks

SLAVE

MASTER

both for the 90/110 sereies of Land Rover.
I ordered these bits to replace the leaking parts on my S3. They physically fit although I had to change the master push rod, but I have not been able to get a hydraulic pipe to fit the threads on the new cylinders. I have spent most of the day visiting local garages and motor factors.

The master appears to have a much smaller hole for the pipe, and is so small that the end my copper pipe will not even fit down the threaded hole. I have been to several local garages, and only one had a pipe end that would fit the thread. The smaller diameter pipe it required, was then far too thin for the slave end of the pipe. Apparently the original pipe I had is 6mm.

The slave appears to have the correct hole, but again all of the local garages and motor factors have struggled to get a pipe connector to fit.

The general conclusion from the last motor factors I visited twice today is that the slave and master I have are not a pair.

None of the local places had a master and slave that fitted the car and that they could get a pipe for (or adapt a pipe to fit)

HELP.

Can somebody please point me at the correct parts (master, slave, hydraulic pipe ends and copper pipe) required to complete this job.
