The white thing is a spacer off an old Flymo. It just happens to be the perfect thickness to pack out the nut. The recess in the spacer just happens to be the right size to sit a penny washer in and with another washer on the other side making up a “sandwich" it means the lock nut is not transferring any load to the floor. Congratulations to Flymo for designing such an ideal part.

Cheers Joe, I shall search eBay for 8 old flymos. biggrin
Are you coming to Stratford this w/end? Have you sorted out accomodation?
If you get really desperate, my tent is large with 2 bedrooms, you are welcome to
share as long as you moderate the snoring & farting. A bit. Privacy & modesty assured.
And keep it a secret.

Or sleep with Barry.

PS I got 16 penny washers from Pope's Engineering Supplies.

Thanks for the offer Glen. I'm booked in but at the moment, if I come at all, I am only planning to come for the Monday as I'm doing Duxford on Sunday.

Yes it's a shame they clash, I'd like to have done them both, plus Donington as well. Typical, you wait for a decent event, then 3 come along at once.
Can we tempt you with the run out from Birchover on Sat 18th May?
I promise it'll be worth the trip oop norf. I'd hate to see you miss out on this one.
Specially tailored for the GTS. smile

Monday? We are leaving Barn Farm Birchover, DE4 2BL on Sunday 19th after a fabulous weekend of fun & peacocks.

If you mean next Monday 6th May, we are camping at the Cottage of Content, Barton, Nr. Bidford on Avon, B50 4NP.
If you come early, we can bbq a swan in your honour, Sir Walsh of Herts.
Or McDonalds.

Sorry, I meant this Monday, the Bank Holiday. I'd assumed you were staying in Stratford Sunday night and doing the show on Monday as well. Or have I got it completely arse about face?

Hi Joe - I will look out for you at Duxford.

Are you going with the local TVRCC bunch? I will probably be in a separate area with the PH East Anglia group as they come form the same direction as me - There will be about a dozen of us, in cars ranging from Merc, to Audi, Ferrari, Atom, a few Tivs and of course the "Spa Special" S wink

If you need plastic washers and you can give me dimension and hole size, either 3mm or 5mm thickness or multiples there of, I can laser cut any quantity requireed in a huge variety of colours, you name it we have it... Almost.!
