As per title and chance to use my new "Harry's GPS Suite" video track day app - well worth the money and ths is what you can do with it:

http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=plcp&v=4KkG...

Or used with no overlaid details:

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8IKdz-gh7mc&featu...

Starts recording as you cross the start line and stops when you come off the track, records lap & split times, altitude, G force, average speed, top speed, corner speed, straights speed, covers loads of track details. Not cheap (for an app) but worth it I reckon.

It rained for the 4 sighting laps Phillpot - that was interesting to say the least.

Ran out of phone memory so the last stint didn't record. Dryer, warmer, pressing on as it was the last stint..... Kev (SY TVRCC RO) was filming from the stands so that will be interesting to see.

Hi Max

Looks like great fun.

I need to do more track stuff, don"t want you getting any closer in the mountains smile

Did you get your own helmet, if so which one did you go for?

Hi Liam,

It was great fun - it's only just 20 minutes up the road from me too so I can see me going again.

Rented the helmet this time and will do at Cadwell. I may well buy one though if I plan to do any more days and I'd do my research then tbh.

And some footage taken from the stands (well grass bank)

..well if he did "follow you to Chatsworth" he must have been shifting as well! ...but only when he was not plane spotting!! - where did that come from?!

That is some of the best S footage I have seen...driven as it is meant to be...much respect

Are you now to be Max that is known as MADMAX... wink

If he did follow me to Chatsworth, he'd have flown past me - you want to see the NOS kit he has fitted to his Wedge :-o

No idea, but it was fecking low - didn't half distract me. DaveM might be able to suggest its source!

Thanks Andy - it is after all what they're built for. It was much fun, but I reckon you'd have given it the beans too - we're cut from the same cloth as far as driving is concerned.

That looks great fun (and reasonably safe) Max.

How do they run it, looked "quiet" out there, is it one car at a time or were you well spaced out? I guess you all get an allotted number of timed sessions each?

It was ideal for me Mike - one car on track at a time - only 8 of us there for the morning.

So, we did four sighting laps in a crocodile formation, followed by 3 stints each of up to 5 laps solo.

The track is an old airfield but has been shaped nicely to create an interesting challenge with plenty of run off. Set me up nicely for Cadwell next month smile

Even better for me is, Blyton is only 20 minutes up the road from here - some friends are up there this Sunday so I might pop up to watch them.

clap This looks awesome Max!! Footage from the stands is excellent, and that App is definitely worth it if you plan on taking to a few track days! How much was it? And how much tread is left on your tyres? rotate

The app is expensive for an app @ £13 - there's 3 levels:

1. Does timing etc but doesn't video (£7ish),
2. Does 1 plus videoing (£13)
3. Does 1+2 plus "professional" stuff (£19ish).

You can pay the difference to step up each level but to me, the middle one is a perfect balance. And free version updates :-)

Looks like a perfect "intro" to track days, who do we know who could organise an "S day" ?

Someone local ideally wink

Who could you be thinking of?

I'd happily do it but fear too late this year to "guarantee" the weather (minimise risk of bad), but how about next year?

The Blyton Park website lists about four companies running track days there, do you know which one organised yours or did TVRCC rent the track directly?

I'm definately up for it ( perhaps I should check the cost first smile ) and if you fancy another go Max that only leaves another 6 to find !

TVRCC event organised by EM section.

I'd talk direct to BPDC and try to replicate, but I can't afford cost or time off for another event this summer.

Cost wasn't exorbitant tbh.

Perhaps we could explore/discuss at SCH?
