Guys, any of you in the same position as me?? The standard press button release fuel filler cap, as fitted to my S2 and most of yours I presume, is not lockable. Phillpot has the ultimate answer and has repositioned his inside the boot. Apparently Reliant Scimitar locking ones can be used but Rocking Horse **** is more plentyful so....
I had an idea, some of you may wish to try.

Just press here to syphon fuel or drop undesirable items into the tank.

1 M8 x 50mm coach bolt plus

One ex workmate plastic wingnut, with coach bolt threaded through from the "top" actually correct thread size,( bit of luck there )

Drill hole through fibreglass filler aperture, in line with the place the tag on the cap moves to when you press the release catch.

Glue the nut into place. And then screw the " plastic wingbolt " from within the boot until it is against the tab of the closed filler cap, thereby stopping it releasing. So when you need to fill up, just pop open the boot unscrew the wingbolt a couple of turns and then press the release as normal. Once you close the filler cap screw the wingbolt back in to secure the tab.
View from inside the boot.

This worked for me, and gives me confidence for while on holiday, with the S having to be left outside hotels or on the road.
Hope this helps others.

You might want to patent that Mike before someone else comes up with the same idea wink

I modified mine more for aesthetics than security, while theft or contamination is always a concern,I don't recall anyone coming on here saying they'd had a problem?
But if mine was street parked in a "dodgey" area I would definitely take precautions (or move house).

Yeah that's the diagram I was going to scan from the "bible", for the other thread, don't need to now!
