I have posted this separate from the thread on ties in the hope it can be found on a search.
I have spoken to Scale Model Technical Services who made the white model S type kits. They have confirmed that the models are NOT available at the moment and that the original moulds are now too well used to enable any more to be produced.
They have however decided that the model will be produced again using new and improved moulds. They are however very busy with other work and couldn't give a timetable, it will be more than a matter of months!
They have however taken my email details on the basis that they will inform me, and I will inform the forum, as soon as date for new models is known.
So start hinting about Christmas presents, but for next year!!!

I have no objection to starting a provisional listing of likely demand and to keeping SMTS in touch as that might encourage them to bring this project forward.

I will start he ball rolling with 1 V8 (OK mine is a V6 but it looks like a V8!)

Awesome job!! I would love to have one! I will not be in the UK next year, but would take one to be shipped to me in the states smile. Oh and V6 or 8...

Well done greymrj, I still have my models from the first order so I'm not looking for any more at the moment but am pleased you have started another provisional order book. I found SMTS good to deal with and I have no doubt that they will get around to making more especially if you keep them informed of progress.

scratchchin Maybe by the time I get to see the 'new improved' version my arm might be twisted.

Maffe - you can get it posted to me if there's a problem and I'll bring it on the EuroTrip, assuming you'll be doing them again.

I've got one from the original order that is part built - will finish this winter.

Yes you can because your model will arrive looking a bit like this......

The earlier production model (V8S) and the more recent ones specially made for "us" all featured the Oz eight spokes and later style dash.
When SMTS had this model in production they did offer it as a kit or ready built.

A small word of caution to anyone not familiar with white metal kits, the moulding quality is not in the same league as, for example, Tamiya plastic kits, a lot of "finishing" is required. But they have said they're coming up with a new, improved mould scratchchin

An advantage of white metal is that you can spray it with the cellulose touch up that you can get to match your cars colour code. With care!
Now, can I get them to make the kit with the 'proper' OZ 5 spokes?

Greetings from an interloper who doesn't have an S but likes them a lot. I'd buy an SMTS S model lik a shot, so count me in.

NO problems having an 'interloper' along, and welcome! The more demand we can show the more likely they are to make them.
I will keep trying to bring this thread up for a month or so then go back to SMTS with the evidence of demand we have. You will appreciate from the above posts that several S owners/forum members got models the first time round so demand for further models is quite modest, at least it is so far.

Very true! The order I originally made was for twelve V8 and twenty four V6's. Bit of a credit card bill that month until I'd organized payment from everyone. yikes
