Mine is staying green on the outside.
The chassis is going red and still deciding what I am going to change the interior to, it's all black at the moment and quite dull.
Thoughts at the moment are mint green carpet and grey seats and trim with green piping
Any other ideas guys ??

My interior trim was a 'light beige' which I imagine looked the business when it was new, but I have found it a pain for getting my oily finger marks all over it when I have to take the door cards off every 5 minutes…!!

I'm thinking I'd quite like a slightly darker 'biscuit' / 'camel' / 'caramel' sort of a shade…

Kind of like in these seats http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

And keep the green carpet and have my wood veneer dash renovated. Plus some shiny silver bits of course!!

I have a pair of mx seats as the ones in the car aren't original and they are too high and just a bit too wide and it's difficult to close the doors propery, so not tied to a colour

How about a contrasting shade of green set off with body colour piping?

Not sure Mike ..............
Much deliberating lies ahead!!!!
Mine was red originally and got repainted "in stages", front when engine was out, outriggers when I did 3" lift etc.

At the time I'd have preferred a change to something a little more subtle, mid-grey maybe, but stuck with red coz it would have looked a right mess doing it a bit at a time (upper central tubes are still original red powdercoat).
Anyway, I now rather like the red and am glad I stuck with it wink

Green Oh Yes, by far the fastest. ! biggrin
Good choice, I resprayed mine myself, it was solid dark green, but my brother has a Land Rover in Epsom Green Pearlescent Metallic, which I have fallen for, 40 ish aerosol cans later ( colour and lacquer ), plus lots of grinding out the split and crazing fibreglass rematting, seal coating and primer, block sanding, plus all the polishing afterwards but all for about £300. Mine has the dark brown interior but have also used MX5 seats in a mid tan colour, and have some upholstery die to match the armrests and face of the dash, which I have yet to do. Its on my list.......

Your earlier link is to pics of my S's interior, before I did the respray.

So I got a bit lazy with the pictures…but I have made more progress!!

Exhaust and Manifolds off - shock freeze spray and releasing oil worked a treat..on 9 out of 12. 3 breakages, all at the hot end (back of engine). All don't look like they'll be too bad. I've been dosing them with more oil and I've bought some sharp drills and an extraction tool to see if they work. One of them is pretty much dust so once drilled I reckon it will just collapse.

Petrol tank and carrier off - easy job as I replaced all this 2 years ago smile

Prop shaft off, engine and gearbox separated. Much easier job than when I had to do it with the body on because the prop shaft UJs were knackered. Much easier on my neck this time laugh

Picking up engine lift and engine stand tomorrow that I am being loaned, fingers crossed engine out tomorrow afternoon!!
