Thinking about changing wing mirrors, thought it might be a good idea to be able to see what's behind! Read about Mazda MX5 but wondered if anybody ever fitted Audi TT wing mirrors.

Wing mirrors with indicator repeaters would be nice.

Can't recommend any though.

A bit of background here

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Has anyone tried late Fiesta ones?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-FORD-FIESTA-MK7-...

Heated, motorised and with indicator.

I like those Fiesta ones. Given how low TVRs are the higher level indicator is a real benefit.

I believe someone has used Audi TT mirrors in the past 18 months or so, but I'm afraid I can't remember who it was.

Looking at many newer cars these days, there does seem to be a resurgence of door mounted stalk-type mirrors, rather than the type integrated into the "quarterlight" moulding. This design trend is most welcome, as it does give us alternatives to try on the S, instead of the very overpriced standard fare.

Latest gen TT mirrors look nice but a bit big - I'd need to see them next to an S.

Chap on the TVRCC site had fitted Mk1 TT mirrors to a Grif/Chim (can't remember which). Claimed they were a very easy fit.

Can't see why they wouldn't fit an S and they look pretty good.

Edit - link to thread here

Thanks for the replies/links/suggestions, I'm trying and follow up one of the links to see if it is an easy swap or not. If I get any info I'll report back.

I bought pair of TT wing mirrors and plan to fit them spring time, but yes I am sure someone did it and mentioned it on here.

After a lot of deliberation I went with these...
http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/mirrors/v...

I really like them - I think they suit the car and are not as bulky as some of the alternatives.

Very nice. Liking the TT ones too - although I'd like to see a set of mk2 TT mirrors with indicators as well.

Guys, it's getting really hard to resist getting an S3C - Tamy is lovely but scares the willies out of me. Can we stop posting up pictures of nice cars. Thanks.

Luckily the black S3C I had been looking at in the classifieds has gone. Tamy's happy and so's the bank account. Finally got on with 'liquidating' some collected spares to try and make it cost neutral. Got a third the way there. Not bad for the weekend.

Put MX5 Mk1 on this summer- apart from not tightening them down so that they move in the wind, the one thing I have noticed is that they must be slightly convex as they view seems slightly distorted relative to the originals. Also, being of a short stature, I find the "quarter light" upright gets right in the way so I end up weaving my head around a bit to get a decent view.
Having said all this, they are still miles better than the originals.
Got them from MX5 City. Not especially cheap (£85.63 inc delivery) but they were very good.
Hope this helps.

Agree, the wheels look very nice. I think a set of 'minilite' style wheels would suit an S very well too.

I have a Mini mirror in the garage if anyone wants to have a play and see if it could be made to fit.
