All northerners please check your fuel consumption each way to/from Blenheim.
I drive from Newark to Cambridge and back regularly and have noticed that I get 10% better fuel consumption driving down the map than I do driving back up it (all as per the read-out on the dash of my daily driver).
No, I am not joking!
It puzzles me, so I need to know if others have noticed it. I believe the start and finish points are near enough the same height above sea level, but will check that.
Thank you

Dunno if it's more economical one way than the other, but I did 765 miles the other weekend, taking in the Norfolk TT, and averaged an amazing 31.8 mpg, using the conversion factor of 4.546 litres to 1 gallon.
And a lot of the time I had the volume control turned up to 11
I'm a bit worried that Austin is running so well, it can't last can it?
ETA My tickets arrived in today's post

My Rob 5 litre does around 20 mpg regardless of how I drive it, other than on track when I get between 8 and 10 mpg
So, S club, think hard before you go for a 5 litre.
I came to the last SCH and left wanting an S, any S, but particularly an S with an S1 interior. You guys do an awesome job looking after those great cars.
I will be at Chimfest this year if I get a pass out from SWMBO. It's a strange thing, but it's on my birthday, and as anyone with family knows, you rarely get to do what you want on your own birthday. I spent my last one ferrying my father in law back to south Wales.

It's the combined assents you need to measure.. I was talking with Braam Malherbe (google him) last week her ran the Great Wall of china (all of it) and the combined assents was greater than climbing Everest 14 times wow.I drive from Newark to Cambridge and back regularly and have noticed that I get 10% better fuel consumption driving down the map than I do driving back up it (all as per the read-out on the dash of my daily driver).

OK, just worked out the fuel consumption for last weekend...
324 miles and 55.15 litres, which works out at 26.71mpg.
From this, I deduce that Rutland us a much thirstier place than Norfolk.
Or, I use more juice following a Spectraflair Sagaris because it's always braking for corners & slowing me down.
OR.......those lovely Rutland backroads sound so much better in 3rd than they do in 5th
