Thought I should introduce myself. Basically I'm Al's pal and will be tagging along, bear with me as I've not got a TVR but a fleet of VW'S and Ducatis.
looking forward to the tour as I've never done anything like it before.
So its hi from here and see you soon.

Will a Ducati fit in the boot? Sounds like a challenge?

Hi Rich. Al said he is happy for you to drive the S to its limits. If your not sure what they are, speak to Greg who is Tim's mate. He seems to have found the limits on Tim's S but if He brings his Griff, he will no doubt be up for that challenge as well! laugh

Cheers, Stew.

Thanks Stew I think. Will move the seat back for Rich, to reduce the throttle travel. driving

You'll get on well with Gozzy on the trip, he used to have some of them.
Here he is on the way back from Scotland in 2010

Welcome to the S Club Rich. thumbup

I've had a look at your profile pic. You look too young to become a member of the Gentlemen's Touring Section, but on the other hand you look to be quite far down the grid, facing the wrong way, and proudly clutching your beer, so I guess you'll fit in ok. smile

Looking forward to meeting you on the Tour.

P.S.
You say you've never done anything like this before.
Well, there is absolutely no need to worry about the initiation ceremony.
No sir, not at all.
Not one bit.
wink

Tim told me that his S had a cable throttle with no stop. So I have never given it the beans and don't know what Stew is on about.

He has so far said nothing about the Griff throttle arrangement - as it is so bloody stiff I guess there was no need.

However I seem to remember that Stew had modified the throttle arrangement on his Griff to make it more suitable for me to drive, so maybe he did the same on th S?

Oh the pain. All back together on new engine mounts loads of clearance over the ARB but no room at the bulkhead!

Old mounts are going back tomorrow!

New box feels very good though, super slick. Proper ford oil too!

Awesome it will be. Anyone for a pair of 52mm engine mounts? If you need a bit extra.....

On new mounts it's too high and oil filler / dizzy very close. On old mounts it's too near the ARB. 3mm spacers next, a kind of half way answer.
