Hi Damian

if you are really struggling to get a 3.15 cw+p for your Ford diff
have you thought about a BMW lsd? the M3's and some 328/325s have 3.15 ratios.

as long as the S body is still off it would not be too difficult to make mountings.

Hello folks thanks for tip re bmw diff but my drive shaft is cow converted to ford and the driveshafts are obviously ford. Looking at a 7" diff now I reckon my lsd should fit.

Anyhow some more pics engine in for final time hope to get the mapping done next week exciting exciting.

Mmm Ferrari style crackle red... Stuck with s type plenum and fitted st220 throttle body to replace FBW jag unit.

Has clutch, fuel and cooling all sorted so getting super close now.

Cheers

Hi
Looks a nery nice and clean fit, see you re-located the ARB to the front top, Zorstec do some nice work, Nice to see other engines fitted into the S.

Alan

One thing to consider is the rear diff and drive shafts, 250 BHP is on the limit for these units, would be better with the RS 500 2 wd setup, stronger diff and a lot stronger shafts, easy to fit as well.

Alan Thanks for this tip good to know there is an upgrade path. When I get a supercharger.. No must stop for a while now..

The diff is basically the same no? Or is it all in the drive flanges and shafts?

What would I need to to at the hubs if I went for cossie shafts?

Thanks for the kind comments folks.

Oh and well spotted re roll bar.. It is now on top. I have also done disks and pads all round and replaced the rusty gaz front springs..

Also no swirl header tank on yet it been designed and is being made up right now smile

Not sure where to locate air filter just on the TB or I may have alloy pipe made to bring forward a bit. Hmm ?

Cheers

Hi Damian
The 7 1/2" diff case is the same it's the inside that's different, One thing I found with a different engine conversion is that things don't fit back in the same place or need to be re made to fit,
You need to do a slight mod to the trailing arms to get the 180mm flanges and you need 2 of the shorter drive shafts, and the CV joints need to be 30 mm wide or you need new drive shafts, It's an easy mod to do, angle grinder and a welder. Hubs are 2 WD cosworth with the flanges.
The Jag supercharger is a direct bolt on and should give about 325 BHP, Wicker.

Just cut, small tap on the inside with a lump hammer and re weld both sides and done, it's only the cap head that catches so its only 3 - 4mm you need to clear.

Hi Damian,
Could we borrow your old engine & gearbox to take on the Eurotour with us as a spare?
There should be plenty of room for it in L.I.Am's huge boot wink

Lols I'm game if he is perhaps some sort of trailer could be used so we could bring the gearbox too...

Sorry I don't want to break the engine it's too good..

Managed to source a Yukon 3.27 crownwheel and pinion.. Gonna be lucky to have fitted for euro tour mind.

No need to seperate them, should all fit in that Chim boot wink.
Failing that, it could go in TopGearTVR's mini caravan hehe
