Trailing arm brackets need welding..!
Discussion
More done today but everything now seems to take ages.. Trying to keep motivated but I don't seem to be making the progress I was hoping. Felt like I was still going backwards when I removed the hood assembly today. Glad I did though, one of the hinge bolts was snapped and both very corroded. Just needing to get it all over to DTT.
Engine is starting to take shape though...

hi did you have the wheels refirbe if so whare and cost only one of mine is realy bad rest are passable thanks
Hi. I got them done locally in Ipswich at Autofit. I think they use Pristine in Milton Keynes though. They've come up lovely but they're not lacquered and will need constant attention I'm sure. I spoke to the guys at Pristine and they don't lacquer older alloy wheels as they have a tendency to 'gas-out' which I think he means causes the lacquer to bubble underneath..? I think they'll polish ok though.Cheers, T
There I was Terry, thinking mine was getting quite tidy! Yours is in a completely different ballpark altogether. Well done indeed. Really good to see another S being fully restored and given another 25 years of life! Come a long way from needing a trailing arm bracket welding!
Not envious of the wheels though, they do look lovely but 'diamond cuts' were just so time consuming to keep in good order. Best part of an hour each time I took 'her' out. Getting too lazy in my old age! Mind you mine lives outdoors which does not help alloy wheels at all.

Well, it's been exactly 9 weeks since you decided to go for the body-off Terry, and none of us imagined you would do the full restoration to such a high standard in such a short timescale in your spare time! There are 6 weeks left to go before the Eurotour, so as long as Dave the Trimmer works his magic with the same sense of urgency, you should have time to spare and then some.
Amazing! I am in total awe......
So, what's left to do after the trim?
Have you thought about doing this full time?
