Hi all,

Alayne has asked me if I can help organise the timeline concours cars for Burghley.

I suggest we aim for S1, S2, S3, S4 and V8S.

So far we have:

V8S - Simon S.
S3 (with S4 bonnet!) - Longers

So does anyone want to fill the S1, S2 and S4 slots? The aim is to have a concours standard display and Alayne is asking for exterior/interior pics of cars on the TVRCC
Gary
That's Austin excluded then. Concourse?

More like "shabby chic" smile

There is a cetain lovely Scottish S1 that deserves pride of place in the S1 department thumbup

O/T: I still can't post on the TVRCC website from my phone. ( Well, I can post smilies or blank boxes ) frown

Is that confirmed Gary? Alayne said in the club forum she'd put me on the reserves list.

If I am confirmed am I really next to Simon's immaculate V8? Nothing apart from Mr Hills' looks any good next to that one! hehe

I am embarrassed to say that it is now almost certain that my S1 will not be there. Other family and financial priorities mean the S still hasnt come out of its winter refit/hibernation. Close to waking, but still not quite there. Which is a damn shame seeing that I made the last 4 Chatsworths (including the day of the deluge!). Although it is a tidy enough car, it is far from concours, mind you the fact that it is fitted with a V8 bonnet would make it a tad difficult to place in any TVR time line!

Had a great weekend thanks to longers for the run out Saturday, and the icing on the cake was pushing a MR2 to start it, this was the same MR2 that spent time showing me and Glen photos of Tvr's on tow trucks on his phone Saturday night :-)

Hope you all enjoyed Burghley. Fantastic turn-out overall and we managed to squeeze quite a few S' into the timeline. From concerns of not having enough to having to turn people away (sorry!).

I though it was a fantastic venue. The house was great and the staff were all really interested in our cars.

I even managed to come home with a collection of spares, thanks to Steve, Mike & Max.

Roll on S-Club!
Gary

It was a great day yesterday with superb turn out and strong S representation.

I drove to Burghley from Manchester, leaving at 7am, via Snake Pass. I'd never driven the route before and have to say it was the most epic and memorable drive. I finally feel like I've bonded with my car and after such a long period of fixing bits and pieces she drove like a dream all weekend.

Snake Pass, targa panels off, warm coat and beanie, heater on. I'm still smiling from it and enjoyed every one of the 377 miles traveled over the weekend!

Good to meet some of your and cannot wait for the Euro trip and wrack up many more miles. Just a small oil leak to fix beforehand..

It was an excellent event but I can't believe how many people I didn't see.

Mind you, when I was wearing the wig it was difficult....

Fantastic day out and dare I say it we prefered the venue compared to Chatsworth.
My Girlfriend and I really enjoyed looking around the house and grounds, staff were really pleasant and seemed very interested in the cars.
I real bonus having the food fayre in the grounds too.

We left at 7.30am from Surrey and parked just before 9.30am so a decent round trip of 250 miles.
We will go again next year if it's at Burghley.

Ha ha, I missed that Dave biggrin

I also missed seeing a lot of you guys, the day just flew past.

I would like to see a return to grouping the car types together next time if possible, it all seemed a bit scattered & harder to meet up. Otherwise an excellent event & good choice of venue.
The tour of the House was amazing, well worth a look.

Stuart, I didn't realise you were Manchester based, would have liked to have driven back with you. Mind you, I didn't leave until after 4pm. I never saw another Tiv after turning off the A1 at the A47 junction. I wish I'd carried on further north & done either the Snake or Woodhead.

Ah - I'm actually based in Hertfordshire but had been to a mate's 40th the night before in Manchester.

Still beaming from that drive through Snake Pass biggrin

Ah I see smile

Yes it's a great route on a nice clear day, so is the Cat & Fiddle, but you have to be aware of the Police spotter planes helicopters enforcing the 50mph speed limit. They rise up from their hiding places down in the valley beside the road every time a tasty car appears.
But there's no need to go fast when you have that lovely S soundtrack as you're going through the gears. driving
