I have used the search facility extensively, read a great number of threads in a number of different forums (Griff, Chim, Wedge etc.), and come to the conclusion that Audi TT Mk 1 mirrors are the ones for me.

However, the threads don't cover the following:

1) Will silver metallic look crap on a mica blue V8S?
2) How do you wire them up?

Cheers.

Spray with aerosols, body colour or satin black scratchchin

it's only a bit of wiring
In theory yes, but....... laugh

Should be a "piece of cake" but sometimes modern things just seem over complicated and may not "match" ye olde TVR wiring design!

Me and a spray can?

Well, not a lot to lose so might as well give it a go.

Hi Deadfast,

If you go to the 'Search' box at the top of the PH page and enter 'TVR S mirrors', you will get a whole list of previous threads on mirror choices, fitting, etc etc for our cars. Lots of info. You should find what you want.

Thanks. Have had a trawl through, but couldn't find any particular wiring instructions. Audi TT does seem to be the way to go. To be honest anything will be better than what I've got!

You need to be careful with the size of the actual mirrors. I like the current A3 saloon mirrors which I think are the same as mk2 TT. I think they would suit the style of the S (and give a better side repeater) but are probably too big for the S.

mk1 TT mirrors are smaller (I think) and do suit the S well but don't have the side repeater.

As for wiring. It's just a case of identifying what wire does what. The motor adjustment is the same but you do have the option of heated mirrors with the TT items so adding extra wiring and a switch for that is probably the hardest thing.

Ordered a pair of metallic silver Mk 1 TT mirrors with all the necessary bits, so we'll see how we go (and how they look)!

Cheers.
