V8S Ignition amplifier - A tip
Discussion
To all you V8S drivers, check your ignition amplifier for the presence of heat sink compound. I removed my amplifier at the weekend and noticed that over the years the compound had become non-existent. Without this compound, heat can build up in the amp module and eventually cause misfires and/or cutting out.
The compound is available from many outlets at minimal cost, but can prevent a breakdown, especially if venturing into the heat of summer motoring on the continent. You only need a smear on the back of the module, too much can cause issues.
