Looks like there's the seeding of a mini-meet for the Javelin trackday on Monday the 22nd September. See the 'Upcoming trackdays - who's doing what?' thread in the Chimaera forum.

I'll be booking into the Breakfield Lodge which is a few miles up the road the night before.

Details of the trackday are here;
http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackday/index.p...

List so far is;
mk1fan
MPoxon
phazed
QBee
ChilliWhizz

Any more for any more?

looks like lots of RX-8's are booked on. These make a reasonable match to a TVR S I imagine?

Is that a 'I'm in' TGTVR?

Spoken to Javelin and we may get a small reduction in the current 'book early' price of £129. Probably not worth the hassle of organising the single payment from a group.#

Garages are available at a reserve price of £30 each. If any are left over they are a free for all on the day (FCFS).

I'm happy to book my spot next week as I'll be booking Croft and Oulton Park at the same time. I'm happy to book a garage. If anyone else wishes to book a garage then let me know and I'll request 'adjoining cells'. This can provide space for up to six cars but will atleast give cover / shelter for our various associated kit.

Currently 15 people confirmed on the day - the majority RX-8 owners.

Apologies,

The hotel I mentioned is called Breckland Lodge - www.brecklandlodge.co.uk

Rooms are nice, and the bar food ain't bad. Sainsbury's 1-mile futher up the road for fuel (nicely hidden behind a high brick wall so the turn in is a bit sharp for those who don't know).

Don't try and use the online booking form, it's poo poo cacka hair. Just call them.

couple 100 yards past the Sainsburys is an Esso station where you can proper fuel instead of the supermarket muck. Also in town on the square, Indian restaurant is highly recommended-go there evvery 14 days.
Won't make it myself but hope you boys have a great time

Ill get this booked up in the next couple of days. I like Snett and at £129 it would be rude not to.

No worries with noise there either. I am a little concerned about going back to Bedford after noise failing the static noise test there last time (with cans) and having to beg to be allowed on, they could have quite easily said no but they were kind to me.

A lot of people had the same issue at Bedford that day. Even that Dyson doubling as a Porsche GT3. They realised the issue was theirs and let us all through.

Unlikely to get a further discount, see previous posts, so down to individuals to book.

Please post here when you've booked. Also state whether you have booked a garage so we can try and group ourselves.

I won't be booking until next week as I want to check my dB before booking Croft.

If you have an iPhone, I have found the app Decibel 10th to be pretty accurate.
Don't forget you are checking dB (A) readings
Hold the phone half a metre upwards and outwards, both at 45 degrees, from the exhaust.
Then grow a three metre long leg so that you can reach the accelerator and rev to 4500 rpm.....or get a competent friend to helphehe

"approve, back, support, champion, favour, promote, recommend, sanction, sustain, advocate, warrant, prescribe, uphold, authorize, ratify, affirm, approve of, subscribe to, espouse, vouch for, throw your weight behind • I can endorse this statement wholeheartedly." 8-))

that the Decibel 10th App is as accurate as any near professional sound meter used when at MSA events!!! Experienced and used at MIRA Sprint with the Noise Scrutineer!!

Unfortunately I am a Samsung user and the dB meters peak at 86dB.

Samy read 86dB at both Austec (iPhone I believe), Cadwell Park and Snetterton. If it's the same on Monday then I'll book Croft on the 13th (88dB limit).

Never mind - and you might find that that app is available for Samsung.

The biggest problem, as all serial MSV trackers know, is that the same car, same "professional" meter, different days, different weather conditions, can measure anything up to 8 dB different.
I find cool misty damp mornings give the worst readings. And proximity to buildings doesn't help. I always get best readings at Snetterton, where the noise test is well away from both buildings and background noise.

At Bedford I was 105.5 dB (see Matt's post above). Put the cans on, was still 103.
TVRCC track day at Cadwell Park I was 108.5 dB. Put the cans on - 101.
I have been as low as 101 without cans at Snetterton, but as high as 105.5, both without cans.
Same make and model of noise meter, same rev limit, same complete puzzlement.

It's the Samsung hardware in the phone that limits the readings up to 86dB or so I've been told.

If the reading is any different on Monday then I'll book Croft for the 12th (105dB limit). It's been pretty constant to date.
