The previous thread was getting a bit picture heavy, so I thought it was a good point to carry on in a new one… And the engine is successfully removed!

Here it is:

Hired some muscle to help carry…

Not much left to remove now

Had to remove the clutch to get it on the engine stand. Doesn't look in too bad condition…though I'm not entirely sure what 'good' or 'bad' looks like…at 80,000 miles though feels like a job to do while its in bits?

Cheers,

Andrew

Good looks like plenty of friction material left before you get anywhere near the rivets, and the four coil springs should be tight in the hub.
If release bearing sounds dry/rattly it needs changing, a lot of suppliers only do a full 3 piece kit these days anyway.

Dark blue overalls next time wink

Yes, but that would by default mean I end up with a 1.3 litre TVR S….which I reckon may affect resale value…!! wink

Yes I think that's our plan to come down on Sunday and camp. Have been meaning to look if we need to book…will have a look unless someone better informed comes along!
