Beaut day today. Sun was out all day.

Full International GP circuit in the morning and the shortened Coastal circuit in the afternoon. Speed and confidence improved all day.

One pic for now as I'm a bit tired;

600-miles traveling plus 150-miles on circuit.

Track mpg = 17.5mpg.
Traveling mpg = 31.6mpg.

Think I'll stick with super unleaded.

Was a fantastic day, your car was flying and so was the Atom, sounded imense with the charger, sorry if I got in anyones way as it was my first ever track day, caused a red flag due to a spin off and burnt out starter. Was back out though and started to get the hang of it, great circuit and thouroughly enjoyed the day.

75-months and one post, that's top lurking! biggrin

What car were you in?

As clearly said in the briefing it's a driving pleasure event not a competative event. Frankly there was some appauling and inconsiderate driving from some of the faster guys.

Didn't let it ruin my day though. Great fun and certainly will be returning.

Great weather too.

i dont really use/post on this forum much, tend to stick to ford/kitcar ones but been looking a bit more on here of late. I went out in the first session on the gp and felt totally intimidatred so came off track and parked up for a bit, I already cut someone up by accidnet coming into the pits, i was indicating but should of had my hand up. Yeah I seen a lot of rum overtaking amouvers going on, I must sant the coastal circuit was a hoot, escpecuallty at around 4pm I fuelled up and stayed out till the end with only about 3/4 other cars on track. Was great as there was no pressure and acutally gave me a chance to get used to the car and driving on track. Really enjoyed it, My car was the white dominator ts400

That last photo is lovely.

Dominator? That's the model that the guy from Kit Car Crisis built and raced (iirc).

You seemed to be lapping pretty well to me. Loved both circuits but the 'drop-link' section that creates the Coastal arrangement is beaut. Tricky, but beaut. I think I kind of got the hang of it near the end of the day.

I was the last car off the circuit smile

I too was trying to keep out of peoples way. Luckily, atom111 had a few words of zen sageism and I maned up later on. We all paid the same amount to be there so I think it's right to expect people to only overtake when it's clear to do so and with consent on the straights.

With hindsight, I really should have reported a few guys. It's not as if the morning briefing didn't clearly state what was expected.

I may get some stickers made up for the next event. 'Jepardy Road Block' or similar.

thanks very much for the nice comments, was a mad rush, did a full strip, few grp repairs and full prep and respray which started Monday last week.

The electronic gear shifter was playing up so kept hitting neutral between 4th and 5th.

yeah it is the same model as the one mark Reynard ATTEMPTED to build but it has had a fair few amendments to the chassis, wishbones etc. The original chassis was not bad but just had a few places where some more triangulation was required.

Kitcar crisis finished off dominator sports cars, I believe the spire car is made from the dominator afaik (I may be wrong)

Ive little vid from yesterday, I didn't get much footage as I was too embarrassed of my lack of pace compared to the others, just put the camera on for the coastal.

Let me know what you think pmsl

if you notice I not have it pinned after church, before the track day I was watching some footage on you tube to try and get a bit familiar with the track, then I came across this clip. Save to say its like a nightmare to me now and I hate the approach towards rocket!!!!! Keep thinking it is going to happen to me.

skip to 5:30 on the clip. (OUCH)

yeah atom it scared me a fair bit, as soon as the rear wheel hit the rumble strip it just broke traction, must be the car is so light the strip lifted the wheel up

Nice to see Samy get some screen time - if only briefly!

Track looks so different on film. I'd get a camera but struggle to find one with sufficient storage capacity to film a whole lap. biggrin

Which car was samy?

Ive got 2 cameras, the one taking the footage is a ducati, has a 32gb capacity which is more than enough, i bought it new for 145 but the price has gone through the roof now and is pretty much the same as gopro.

Here is an interesting write up on cameras FYI

When are you all doing your next track day? i need to get my car shifting properly which may mean a jaunt down south so im thinking of organising a get together for a track day when that happens

First photo in the thread. TVR S3C.

Our next trackday is Snetterton in Sept - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

We're off to Morzine in August so there's no time for track fun.
