HI

One week into TVR S2 ownership and sorting a few niggles.
The most curious niggle so far has been electrical - when I apply to brakes (which work fine) the front side lights come on too?
Which is kind of embarrassing as it means when ever I have applied the brakes, I have also been flashing oncoming drivers...!
I have removed the fuses at present for daylight driving and had a browse of the wiring diagram but cannot see an obvious place where wiring might have crossed or a common source point - so anyone have any ideas about where to look?

Car is otherwise in good condition and runs fine.

Thanks
Ed

check your brake light bulbs. If somebody has fitted the wrong bulbs, or one of them isn't fitted properly, you might be getting a backfeed through the sidelight circuit when you brake.

Most issues with TVR electrics are down to bad connections particularly earth connections.
First thing to do is check all the earth’s to the chassis. There is one behind each front wheel on the diagonal chassis tube that catch a lot of weather and need to be kept clean and protected. Also the connectors into the back lights are very prone to corrosion.
I had a similar issue with my S3 but it was the headlights that came on when I pressed the brake if the panel lights were turned off. I solved it by removing the the dim dip module, not sure if that was the problem or whether I have just bypassed the issue.

Ditto the rear light connectors - had a weird brake lights flashing with indicators thing going on - a bit of sandpaper and contact cleaner on the connector and job was a good 'un

The connectors to rear light and the bulb boards are available.

On mine indicator fed back via an earth an switches my passenger door solenoid lols..

If the plugs are loose they often don't stay in place on the bulb board.

Ahhh, so nice to know your car came with standard TVR character!
