What is the received wisdom about the best suited tyres for an S? Currently I have some Bridgestones of some description which have worn well but are pretty old and got an advisory for cracks at the last MOT so time to replace.
I liked Toyo T1-Rs on my old MX-5 and have some Falkens on my 323i that do the job. Have also liked Uniroyal RainSport3s on less sporty cars for all weather performance...

One of my main reasons for choosing the Dunlops was their good (C) wet braking grade but just checked the Toyo Proxes CF2's I bought for my Silver S (nearest match to the pair of nearly new CF1's already on it) and they get an even better B !

Tyres are very odd things. New tyres are always better than old tyres, so the temptation is always to say that the type you have changed to is better - in reality the new tyre with more tread is better than the old tyre with less tyre!
Also, what is good in one size might not be in another size, and different weight/types of cars will react differently to the tyres. Always found that the toyo proxes t1r work best on light cars - great on my old mx5 and my wife's puma but not so good on my old Saab 900 turbo. Nb toyo proxes t1r is a very different tyre from the proxes cf1.
Also, expensive not always best - pirelli p6000 is supposedly a premium tyre, yet they have an awful reputation. I've fared better with midrange tyre in the past - toyo, falken, Uniroyal...

Trying the Uniroyal Rainsport 3 on Tamy at the moment. Impressed so far, although had been running a mix of Toyo T1R, T1S and Falken something.
Also, fitted Hankook Kinergy Eco K425 to the rear of the Black Box (replacing P6000). Were noticably quieter on the round trip to Scotland over the weekend. Only a B rating for wet grip and 70dB (Bluerinse are A and 68dB). Hard to tell how they perform but the Box didn't turn into a drift machine. Few quid cheaper than the Dunlops. My local ATS (when booked online) were only a quid more expensive per wheel than the cheapest online search. Just need to wear out the fronts now.
Despite trying (and squealing) really hard on the trackdays I don't sem to be wearing the P6000 and Kuhmo's fitted to Samy down. Have I discovered the hardest wearing set of tyres in the world?
