Was chatting to a Wedgie owner this morning and they were very keen to attend to.

So to those organising / considering the future destinations, I'm up for a trip to the principality along with a Wedgie.

I'd be in if it could be achieved within the principles of the EuroTour

Well, it's possible. But...bloody expensive (but see below)! Eg, a car + 2 adults in a sleeper costs £611-£817 from Hertogenbosch (Holland - 2hrs from Ostend) to Alessandria (Italy - 21/2 hours to Monaco) each way(!) depending on the date. Ferry crossing not included. See www.autoslaaptrein.nl for more info. Mind you, the autoroute tolls for that journey across France would be around £130 each way plus (lots of!) petrol wasted burning up boring autoroute miles.

Very roughly for comparison:-

Outbound – night in Calais £50
Mid-way break overnight £50
Petrol 200 (V8 consumption!)
Autoroute tolls – 130

Return - Mid-way break overnight £50
Petrol 200 (V8 consumption)
Autoroute tolls – 130

Total £810

So in terms of the return journey, not a lot in it really; but still bloody expensive.

So probably not then given additional time & cost?

I'm happy to flex around the edges (i.e. an extra day or two; a few extra £'s)

A mate of mine drove to the Monaco F1 this year - I can ask him what his rough travel costs and routes were - he won't have spent big bucks.

Can't find a good link now but I think there are companies that can do car transporters for multiple cars that of area. You know, like the ones who deliver cars to garages... We could get a commercial transporter company to deliver the cars to say... The Millai viaduct..and we drive the rest of the way after getting there by train or Ryanair....just a thought
