V8 S Carpet Sets & Dash Gauge bezels
Discussion
Carpets.
I've seen replacement bezels for sale at car shows but not sure if they actually replace or clip over?
Polished bezels have been available in the past, think it was a "hobby business" for someone on PH but no idea if still around?
Others have cleaned, painted or polished their originals.
Hi, Ive recently just done the same with my TVR s1, I replace the carpets and the bezels.
For the carpets I got them from lakewell...
http://www.lakewell.com/en/tvr/s-series/full-carpe...
I was happy with the carpets, but it did take a lot of effort putting them in and the instructions they supply themselves are not that good. But they were the cheapest supplier I found.
For the gauge bezels (Im assuming the v8s are the same as the s1), these are a bit harder because of the abnormal size of the 4 mini gauges (Oil, Water, Battery, Fuel). But I got them from http://www.autoelectricalspares.co.uk, they also have an eBay shop and are chrome color only.
The speedo and tacho were easy to replace with 80mm half v ones ( http://www.autoelectricalspares.co.uk/classic-car-...).
Now the 4 mini gauges are somewhat harder, I could not find a supplier that did the exact size, even though they are 2" gauges, they have a small "lip" around the edge that makes them slightly bigger so the replacement bezels don't fit. You have to grind off the lip a little so the bezels will fit over, Also the original glass wont fit so I needed to get replacement ones from the same supplier. There was also a further problem which was the depth of these bezels were not deep enough to bend the "tags" around the lip so it holds the bezels on. So I had to "push" the V section out a little so the angle was not as deep, then it fitted fine. IF that makes sense?

I hope this helps!
