I intend to do loads of donuts in the garage car park before they fit them... no way am I changing them with the 2.5mm I have left. And if I am changing the fronts, they may well be put on the rear for a few spins prior to fitting too!

Get four new ones. They may have enough tread but the rubber goes hard and loses grip.

I found these guys to be worth checking on the net: http://www.blackcircles.com/ - Used a couple of times: Cheap prices for tyres only or fitted at a local fitter of your choice...plus you get Tesco clubcard points...and what do points make... wink

Here's a list of a couple others I have used in the past in addition to black circles:-

www.mytyres.co.uk
www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk

These are also supposed to be good sites too

www.oponeo.co.uk
twww.tyreleader.co.uk

Different sites will have different offers and availability. It also depends if you are just looking for tyres and have a friendly fitter or need to arrange fitting through the site too. I don't think they all offer this.

Pneus online were significantly cheaper than the rest when I was looking for a set of winters for the daily last autumn.

ETB Worcester Ltd are worth a look, Dunlop Bluresponse 205/60/15s fitted for £73 a corner with a little bartering, as not long put tyres on my daily and my better half's car includes balancing and disposal of my old ditchfinders.

I've always found camskill fantastic on price and delivery to your local tyre fitter. Used them many times for the Audi

Hi Glen, no, done nowt with it so far, I had a spare in my workshop so using that. Once it all calms down a bit ( really busy at the moment ) will get it repaired. Cannot find any other probs with car so just bad luck and poor tyres.

Mike, I think you were extremely lucky to get away so lightly. You could so easily have been collected by an oncoming vehicle. yikes

It was salutory lesson to us all on the importance of decent tyres.
