Hi All
Has anybody ever measured if there is any steering toe in out movement with bump and rebound of the suspension, I found 22 thou on bump and 12 thou on droop, Just interested if anybody also checked this, if so what did you find.

Where did you measure, at the wheel rim?

Same both sides?

No idea what is "acceptable" but 22 thou doesn't sound a lot unless perhaps if you're building a Formula 1 car ?

Can you translate them into degrees? I'm struggling with the trig. Both figures toe in right? At the track rod ends? with ride height at about 170mm
It would be interesting to compare at different ride heights

I would be interested too Alan. Since I have had the new suspension (Gaz Classics) on, and the car isnt bouncing around and grounding so much, I am trying to 'fine tune' it and I am conscious of some bump steer. Now that I have the ride in the right order I must remember to get the tracking checked again on a 4 wheel tracker.

Hi All
Tuning the suspension and steering is a must if you are going to do any serious track work. I spent a lot of time with the steering and being able to adjust it from the factory standard set up. Today I installed the adjustable track rod ends, these are a kit made for the Mustang GT 500 (2005 to 2010 model) they allow the track rod ends to be shimmed up or down to eliminate any movement of the toe when the suspension move into bump and rebound, only a small mod needed to make them fit the S knuckles.
Monday I have a trip down to Kiley Clinton to see Rodger and pick up my custom 2.2 rack for the S. The tie rods have to be 14 X 1.5 as is the kit, I could have made a new adjuster but kind of like the red anodised one supplied with the kit, I should be able to shim up or down the new rack with ally spacers

Hi Mick
With a 2.2 rack I need to be able to adjust the bump steer as with a high ratio rack it will amplify any movement in the steering. last thing to go on the chassis, paint the calipers and the body can go back on.
Only 4 weeks then it's off down under for 8 weeks to see my son, so I would like the body and bonnet on before we go.
