Brake cyl reservoir connection

Morning guys
Managed to get an XR2 servo and cyl
The existing level sensor only has 2 wires the xr2 has 3
Does anyone know what the 3rd is for and configuration?

Couldnt tell you off hand but there is an XR2 wiring diagram on the web:

On Sierra's of 87 onwards the handrake warning switch is connected to the fluid level switch and there is only one brake warning light. The colours on the sierra are brown/green from the level switch to the handbrake and then to earth, brown yellow power from the warning light end and brown alone provides the earth out for the level switch.

Quicker to play around with a test lamp or multi-meter than wade through that lot

Just re- use the original cap and sender unit, I did this when converting the master cylinder from the SAAB to the Ford unit - it was a good fit and no leaks.
