Hi guys, Im rebuilding my s1 engine, and am at the stage of looking at the exhaust manifolds. The original cast ones are looking a bit restrictive.
Are there any decent after market ones out there that anyone can reccommend ?

Hi Roy,
If you do get stainless steel manifolds fabricated, please do not throw away the old cast ones, as they are rarer than hens' teeth, especially the offside manifold.
Even if they are cracked they can be repaired by a skilled welder, and could be used to save a poorly S1 in the future.

Good luck,
Glen

Don't go expecting any more power out of a set of manifolds. I've got the ACT ones on mine and they're a lovely thing. Look even better now I've painted them, but no power hike at all as the heads are the main restriction, not the manifolds.

Thanks for the info guys, very useful indeed !
Im now looking at the fuel injectors, which have been badly stored and I doubt will be much use. Im thinking of maybe changing to a carb set up which will be easier to maintain. I recall some while ago seeing an s2 with a holley set up. Does anyone have any info on them ?

I personally see going from fuel injection to carbs as a downgrade. Injectors are still available new I believe, and you can also have them ultrasonically cleaned. Find a used set and having them refurbed wouldn't cost the earth.
