Just seen the last 'mirrors' post, particularly the bit about fitting Vauxhall bits, and it set me wondering about the different 'makes' I now have on my S as I have sourced alternative parts. So I sat down with a brew and thought scratchchin

Came up with the following type, which excludes any Ford original stuff. Obviously excludes aftermarket stuff from various firms as well.

BMW front indicator lenses
British Leyland front indicator bodies
clutch slave cylinder (soon to be Landrover!)
mini headlamp rims, inner and outer
Citroen Flexi-mounting for fuel pump
Fiat Uno heater motor
Ford Fiesta etc side indicator repeaters
Special hex self tappers for holding in all bumpers
Jaguar some of the interior trim material (ADDED: pedal rubbers)
Landrover clutch slave cylinder
Mazda Mirrors
MG Steering wheel. OK, motolita really but it came off an MGBGT
Peugeot 205 Seat belts and stalks
405 wiper motor
Renault A little bit of the new alternator mounting!
Rover seat base suspension springs (seat base is now completely different)
SAAB brake servo and master cylinder
Toyota front indicator bulb holders
Vauxhall (WRC) Pre-pump fuel filter

Quite surprising really, and that is from memory without looking at the car.
Now, brew over, you lot can make what you like of that!;)byebye for now.

Volvo brake servo and master cylinder

Which Volvo model have you sourced those from Richard?
Could be helpful to those desperately searching for replacements.

As far as I know, my S is the only one with an "Austin" badge, a Ford P100 brake servo & m/cyl. set-up, a rod operated wiper linkage from an early Vauxhall Carlton ( ? ) with brass plumbing fitments, and warning placards from an H.S.748 & an Avro RJ 85
Oh, and seats covered in Hessian & Ambla ( that's sackcloth & vinyl smile )

But as we all know, every S is greater than the sum of its' parts.

Don't forget all the odd bits fitted by TVR as "standard" eg

Chevette steering rack
Citroen mirrors
Peugeot rear view mirror
TR7 switches

And Cortina door handles, Escort/ Sierra steering coupling, Saab top balljoints, Lada/ Fiat 124 bottom balljoints, Saab or Fiesta brake servo, modified Leyland Sherpa radiator, TR7 rear number plate lamp Escort rear lights, 2.8i Capri, or 2.9 Granada / Sierra or V8 Rover engine. Sierra running gear & brakes ( for those who haven't fitted enormous dinner table sized discs wink
And Audi 80 window regulator (manual only): aren't there some Lotus bits in the Chevette/ Escort steering rack? Also Daf 66? oil filter?
KIA Pride or Nissan Terrano/ Ford Maverick alternative indicator lenses.
Morris Marina/ Ital clutch master cyl.

Anyone know of other bits?

NB. All of the above is purely dredged up from my poor old memory and may or may not be true, so don't take it as gospel. wink

Nice to see someone is awake and spotted the 'deliberate' whistleerror. Now corrected. Thanks Glen

(Thinks; must find a Volvo bit that would fit somewhere!)

Oh, I see Richard. I did fleetingly wonder if you meant Saab, but then
I genuinely thought you had found a new alternative.
