280 S fitted mats
Discussion
Hi Sunnysu,
Welcome to the forum.
I don't know if anyone on here has tried those mats you describe, one or two have opted for the full set of tailored carpet from Lakewell* I believe. It's quite a big job to strip out all the old carpeting and glue the new set in properly.
Check out Andrew's ( TVRGit ) step by step guide on the Owners' Blogs/ Useful Links on the S Series Title page. Or click on "Search" ( it's in the grey margin next to "My Stuff" ) and enter "S series carpet replacement"
If you mean just the footwell floor mats, I bought a pair of rectangular rubber-backed doormats from Aldi a couple of years ago. They are just the right size & easy to keep clean. Most of the year I keep my original TVR fitted pair of mats in the garage, I just replace them in the car for shows in the summer.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. At present I'm looking for some reasonably priced drop in mats. The original carpets are badly faded and loose and will need replacing, but other needs come first! On top of the carpet are some nasty badly cut bits of rubber. Driver's side rubber mat keeps getting stuck in the pedals hence the need for better mats that don't break the bank.

Bought some a while ago in that price range, "my" supplier no longer lists car mats on their website but in that region they should be quite reasonable. Mine aren't and exact copy of originals (if you lay them one on the other there are slight shape differences) but they're "near enough" for me.
Quite possible all come from same manufacturer?
I ordered some mats from carmats4u.com which were not a great fit.
I ended up supplying them with templates and the second set were a perfect fit, and superb quality.
Might be worth contacting them and seeing whether you can provide them with templates yourself?
I think I went for the Exclusive mats.

I bought some long mats from Dunelm (I think they are called "runners") which were quite cheap then cut them to size using the old ones as templates and then had the edges bound up ("whipped") by a local carpet wholesaler. Quite a bit of buggering about and no significant saving but the end result was good quality mats which fitted perfectly.
