Last year at the South event there were TVRs that I believe were from a local region. This year I didn't see a club entry but there were TVRs as part of the Sporting Bears. It's a shame as the deal for clubs seems pretty good. We get discounted tickets and camping in the club area as part of the Karmann Ghia club and it's a great event for families.

If you can get 6-7 cars together why not look into a club package and display the cars ? Makes tickets easier, cheaper and the camping is in a separate area.

confused Where and when do these Children in Need car events take place?
I have not heard mention of them, until this thread.

My radar is usually pretty reliable, but this seems to have slipped under the curtain.

Glen, are you too old or too young at heart for the radio 2 demographic....

Organised by Chris Evans... http://www.carfest.org/

Generally sold out within minutes of being advised... Would be nice to go... Perhaps an S-club application is in order...

Oh THAT Carfest biggrin Didn't realise it was for needy kids.*

I'm more of a Smooth FM demographic kinda guy, me.

But I do like Chris Evans, even though he's ginger and he let Captain Slow drive that beautiful Ferrari California through those puddles like it was an S.

Yep, you need to pull all those S-Ed strings and procure us a dedicated S-Club camping / display area for the next Fest. ( In the Norf fer me please. )
Book it and they will come.
Perhaps you could ask Steve Wright & his Posse if they can help twist his arm?

scratchchin AlthoughI can forsee a bit of a problem. frown
Chris won't like me pitching my tent too close to his mansion, it might show it up!

  • confused Aren't most of them too young to drive?
And how can they possibly afford the petrol on their pocket money?

Ah, I see why they need that money now.
Booster seats & petrol wink Cool.

Carfest is a brilliant event, lots to see and do and excellent bands playing in the evening.

I go each year with the Sporting Bears, you have to be quick to get in though as tickets sell out within hours of going on sale.

Went last year, tickets not cheap but all in a good cause, was really worth while paying a bit more for the VIP, deal. You get a separate vehicle entrance that avoids the crowds getting in, use of the hospitality building with clean loos, free drinks and big screen TV's to watch the action on while having a sit down. Trackside views with commentary just a few yards away, or it was at Oulton Park,Cheshire, CarFest North. Then for the evening concerts you get a great seating area with decent views of the stage..
CarFest South was Jody Scheckter's own private Laverstoke Farm with a race circuit on site near Marlborough if I remember correctly.

Laverstock is between Winchester & Basingstoke, 5 min up the road from me. If any S's are going, let me know !
