2015 S Club Euro Tour - update
Discussion
Hi Geoffrey
I'm not sure if you've seen the first pages of these topics but they will give you a good idea of the type of thing we get up to...
2014
2013
I'm still working through the detail for 2015 but phillpot is right - the first night will be in Calais so we WILL be spending at least some of the trip in France. One thing I can say is that I'm planning to use less motorways than we have in the last couple of years - there were some long days to get to/from Germany in 2014 and the Alps in 2013 in the time we had available. I see from your profile you are in Hainaut which is not too far from the route I have in mind for the first day in 2015
Keep an eye on the forum or send me an email through my profile and I'll let you know when everything is arranged.
Cheers,
L'rs

Hi Longers,
Many thanks for the additional info. I live in the North West of Hainaut, 10km from Tournai (one of the eldest town of Belgium with Arlon and Tongres). Bruges, described as the Venice of the North is 55 miles away from Tournai.
Do the accommodation you've chosen accept pets?
Best regards,
Geoffrey

I'm wondering if I could do an Alan mod to accommodate a Springer and a Jack Russell? Hence reducing pet boarding costs and increasing euro tour fundage.
Last time I came back to Dover from the Mainland, I had to spend 6 months in quarantine Edit: I have no idea how much it would cost to pay for quarantine for four dogs ????

Hi everyone,
I took my dog to the UK this year, there is no more quarantaine as long as the dog fulfills the following requirements (see Internet link):

Hi Geoffrey
As mentioned above, this is the first time anyone has asked about bringing a pet on tour!
With such a wide range of possibilities it takes me quite a while to work out where we're going to end up on a tour, how we're going to get there (good roads rather than motorways are preferred!) before I even start looking for hotels. They must of a reasonable standard with enough twin rooms (we usually need more twins than doubles), a restaurant, parking, etc, and on or close to the overall direction we want to be heading. I have already made reservations at 2 of the 4 we'll need next year which means 2 still to find. I might get lucky and have them sorted very quickly this w/end but it might take a couple of weeks of searching the web and exchanging emails.
To add being pet friendly to the list of requirements at this stage will add a layer of complexity I'd rather avoid. Once the hotels are in place I'll check with each of them to see if they allow pets - if they do then you can decide if you want to bring your dog. Hope this is ok for you?
And after what happened in one place this year, the 2015 hotel requirements will include having enough beer for us to have at least 1 drink before dinner...

Didn't think you were joining us in 2015? magpies said:
Not good if we can drink em dry
Chance would be a fine thing, They were dry before we arrived! Then there was the bar (in Dunkerque?) which closed at 10.30pm because there were too many of us. Then there was the hotel which only had bottled bier at 7.50 Euros. Then there was another one which ran out of glasses and only had 330cl bottles. Common denominator? French. Sorry, going into rant mode now. Better have a cup of camomile tea. PS October 21st 2015 is the 210th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. If we are going to Frog Land should we have some appropriate stickers?
