.. a spring loaded clip thingy? Sort of like a plunger with a knob on the end; you pull it back and it locates into a hole in the thing you want to stop moving and then the spring holds it back in place. No idea what it's called and no I haven't been drinking.

A bit complicated to explain but it's for my folding roof project. I want to be able to secure the bottom of the main hoop to a bracket when it's in the upright position but want to to be quick-release.
